Traditional ear surgery (otherwise known as ‘otoplasty’) is surgery that can change the shape and size of your ears, or pin them back if they are prominent. Here are a few facts about traditional ear surgery, and how Earfold® compares, to help you decide what’s right for you.
Recovery: Most forms of traditional ear surgery take up to six weeks to recover from. Earfold® has been designed to be minimally invasive, any pain typically subsides within 24-48 hours, and no bandages are required so you should be able to return to work as soon as you feel comfortable.
Positioning: With traditional ear surgery, the final result is often in the hands of your surgeon. Earfold® let you choose the position of your ears BEFORE the procedure.
Procedure: Most forms of traditional ear surgery take up to two hours to complete. The Earfold® procedure typically takes about 20 minutes.
